Founded in January, 2001, Families for Depression Awareness is a non-profit, tax exempt 501 (c) (3) organization, dedicated to helping families recognize and cope with depressive disorders.
Families for Depression Awareness helps families, especially family caregivers and friends, recognize and cope with unipolar and bipolar depression. The organization provides education, outreach, and advocacy to support families and friends. Families for Depression Awareness is made up of families who have lost a family member to suicide or have watched a loved one suffer with depression, with little knowledge about how to help.

Family & Children's Services of JFCS offers a comprehensive group of programs designed to strengthen families and support individuals through challenging times. Services include: Adoption Resources, such as pre-adoption consultation, home studies, domestic and international placements, educational workshops, clinical services and community outreach; Center for Early Relationship Support, promoting the healthy development of families at the earliest stages; Family Mental Health, providing assessment and treatment by a multidisciplinary team of social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists for a range of emotional problems; and Family Circle, supporting parents of severely neurologically impaired children.
