MEDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders and disordered eating. MEDA's mission is to prevent the continuing spread of eating disorders through educational awareness and early detection. MEDA serves as a support network and resource for clients, loved ones, clinicians, educators and the general public. The Parent Child Center of New England is a non-profit educational organization where parents can observe and play with their infants and young children and discuss their development with other parents and professionals.

We are a community-based program under the auspices of the Psychoanalytic Society of New England, Inc.

Each meeting children and parents spend an hour playing together. For another hour child specialists supervise the children in play while parents meet with a staff group facilitator for discussion. In their group time parents explore aspects of child development on a schedule of topics planned by all.

The Parents Program offers teens and adults of all ages a comprehensive network of support services during pregnancy and the early years of child rearing. The program focuses on improving parenting skills, and works to ensure that young people realize their own needs and potential. The staff of clinically trained professionals seeks to encourage competencies in parents that will enable them to create full and healthy lives for themselves and their children.

The Kayla Rosenberg House provides safe and affordable transitional housing to The Parents Program families who are at risk of homelessness and/or abuse, and who have demonstrated their readiness for independent living. In this environment, parents can work to become financially and emotionally self-sufficient, while they continue their education and/or enhance their job skills.

We promote social, emotional, and physical wellness and continuity of care for all ages. Teen REACH is a year-round program offering free community-based services for teens. Structured out-of-school, educational, recreational, counseling and guidance activities promote healthy development, leadership skills and community involvement, while helping each teen find his/her talents and strengthen his/her sense of self. The program guides teens to develop peer leadership and community building skills and trains them in good citizenship through our Newton Youth Social Action Council and Mentor Connection Program. Teen REACH offers alternative educational experiences that help kids reach their full potential, such as adventure academy and vacation camps. Higher Ground, an outdoor experiential program, melds camping, recreation, leadership development, community service and team building.

The mission of The Wellness Community is to help people with cancer and their loved ones enhance health and well-being by providing a professional program of support, education and hope. All programs and services are provided free of charge.

Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body programs utilizing the Patient Active concept, people affected by cancer learn coping skills tht enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of the disease.

Some programs are specifically targeted to children and adolescents.
