Chelmsford Police Athletic League
The mission of the Chelmsford Police Athletic League is to provide
opportunities for girls and boys to participate in team and
individual sports or activities in a safe, well-supervised
environment. CPAL's objectives are to promote the ideals of good
sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork, equality, and healthy. The
priorities provide an opportunity for all youths to play and/or
participate, promote having fun and learning ahead of winning,
strive to develop confidence and self esteem, maintain a strong
non-competitive program for all beginning and less skilled
participants, provide situations where players are competing within
an appropriate skill level, and foster a trusting and lasting
relationship between participants and Chelmsford Police Officers.
The Chelmsford Police Athletic League gives all youths, regardless
of race, sex, color, ethnic background, religion, creed, or wealth,
an opportunity to participate in any and all programs we run.
The Chelmsford Police Athletic League is a non-profit organization
and is a recognized Chapter Member of the National Police
Athletic/Activities League, Inc. CPAL is organized and operated on
a volunteer basis by the Officers of the Chelmsford Police
Department.
Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. (PWLS) is a non-profit
organization that provides youth football cheer & dance
programs for participants in 42 states and several countries around
the world. Consisting of approximately 400,000 young people ranging
from ages 5 to 16 years old, PWLS is the largest youth football,
cheer and dance program in the United States.
Pop Warner was founded in 1929, continues to grow and serves as the
only youth football, cheerleading & dance organization that
requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order
to participate. Pop Warner's commitment to academics is what
separates the program from other youth sports around the world.
As the only national youth sports organization that requires
scholastic aptitude to participate, Pop Warner is committed to
developing America's young people on the field and off. Each year
Pop Warner continues to expand its efforts in team and activity
participation, as well as visibility and outreach in the
community.
Since 1929, the Pop Warner Programs Philosophy has been that
athletics and scholastics go hand in hand. At every level, Pop
Warner programs seek to develop well-rounded young men and women
who learn not only the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and
dance but also the importance of education in an atmosphere
conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.
Chelmsford Youth Baseball was founded in 1952 as Chelmsford Little League, Inc. It is a Massachusetts non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. CYB's goal is to teach the ideals of teamwork, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect. The organizers of CYB keep the program running in order to help youths grow into well-adjusted, strong, happy, decent, healthy adults. Children ages 5 - 15 are invited to take part in organized, supervised sportsmanship on the baseball diamond. Children from age 8 to 18, who are developmentally or physically challenged also have a league within CYB. As a core tenet of all CYB programs, athletes and their parents are always reminded that winning games is not the focus. Instead, morals, fairness, development and fun are stressed.
Chelmsford Youth Wrestling

Chelmsford Youth Wrestling is an all-volunteer organization. We are much smaller than most of the other sporting programs in town but we are probably the most active. To keep the program healthy and financially stable, we organize several fund raising events each season. The largest of these is our annual Chelmsford Youth Wrestling Tournament that we run at the High School Gym. This has historically been our largest and most successful event. We typically host approximately 500 to 600 youth wrestlers from all over New England for this one-day event! As you might imagine, the logistics involved in managing the flow of that many wrestlers and their families through the Chelmsford High Gym in one day is a daunting task. There is no way we could run this tournament without the enthusiastic support we get from our participant families. We encourage all our wrestling families to help out however they can in this vital fund raising event. We also welcome your active participation in all other aspects of the CYW organization. There are many opportunities to help out and get involved during the course of the season. We appreciate your input and look forward to your involvement in making this a better program for all the kids!
